| Enjoying the new job, filled up my car for the first time in 3 weeks last Saturday, that's bonus.
I think my comment to Dave was the best way to describe the new job "more money, less responsibility, better toys"
I could see myself getting bored with things, but there's plenty of work to be done now, and my boss is very proactive when it comes to education and believes in cross training, plus the company is doing very well so who knows could move up in the world.
All that aside, working with Dave on a project on the side that could very well be a full time gig in the future.
Oh, I have a new phone - a BlackBerry. Pretty much just carry that now, if you want/need the number leave a comment or call the old phone and leave a message. I have google talk on the phone also, so if you use gtalk let me know as well. |

| So friday, last day of work at my now old place of employment. Everything is going well, just wrapping things up, nothing crazy. Out talking with some people in the afternoon, about 3:30, just an hour and 1/2 left in the day. On my way back to my desk get three people say they can't connect to email, this server, that software ect.... Great. Andrew and I look at all of our equipment, reset everything in house, double check to make sure it's all working. Yup, no problems on our end.
Turned out a router clustering device called the "FatPipe" failed. The Fat Pipe takes 2 internet connections and manages them so that the internal network looks at them as 1. Gives more bandwidth, but it's main purpose is so that if one of the connections goes down, it will move all the traffic out over the over connection. Great Idea, decent device. Well it was very poetic that the device failed, in ohio, on my last day, and i wish i could claim credit but I cannot. |
